Fun on the Farm
When it comes to your kids, (2 legged or 4 legged, bald, furred or feathered, aka human or otherwise), nothing matters more. They bring heart ache, pleasure, pain and stress in fairly equal measures. They keep us poor, old and grey, stressed and tired (or is that just my lot…?) but we are destined to love them unconditionally and totally. There is nothing more powerful on this earth or beyond than the love we have for our babies.
I’ve seen the strongest people on Earth crushed and destroyed by the loss of their child. And sadly, there is no magic wand to take that pain away. It is total and all consuming. And it is so so true the saying that it is better to have loved and have lost than to never have loved at all. But that loss is of equal proportion to the love. It is equal.
There are people who recognise this and there are people who don’t . Fair play.
There are people who experience love and people who don’t.
Chances are at some point, life is going to touch you.
Each and every one of us has a story.
There is a chance to make a small difference. We each can. I love my daughter’s quote that she got from somewhere: ‘As one person we cannot change the world, but we can change the world for one person.’ How about giving it a go?
There is an auction of promises at the Buck Inn in Maunby (a brilliant local pub) on July 14th at 7.30 to raise money for the charity ‘Oscar’s Paediatric Brain Tumour’, and no, you don’t have to be there, you can ring up before and make a sealed bid. 01845 587215 . Here at Morndyke, we are offering a two night mid week mini break in one of our shepherds’ huts. What if your bid was the extra amount of money that was needed to do some vital research to make a difference? It’s something you’d never even know that made that difference, but it just might.
Check out the list, there’s some fab offers. I’ve seen the cushions and they are ace…. Might just make a cheeky bid on those…. A girl can never have too many cushions…..
